Senator Neal is a strong voice for senior citizens, youth, the disadvantaged and minorities and a staunch supporter of public education, economic development, healthcare and criminal justice reform.
In the Senate, Gerald Neal will continue to fight for families in District 33 and across Kentucky. He will work to:
- Deliver increased salaries for our hard-working teachers and public-school personnel
- Pass universal pre-K for every four-year-old in Kentucky
- Support business growth and economic development
- Expand access to healthcare, expand mental health initiatives, including by directly addressing maternal health disparities
- Reform our juvenile justice and criminal justice systems
- Remove slavery from the Kentucky Constitution by passing an amendment to strike the words “involuntary servitude”
A Proven, Effective Leader
Senator Gerald A. Neal represents the 33rd Senate District in the Kentucky General Assembly. He serves as the Democratic Floor Leader having previously served as the Senate Democratic Caucus Leader. He is the first African American in Kentucky history to do both.
Senator Neal has brought millions of dollars to the 33rd District, in infrastructure improvements, economic development and good jobs for our families. These efforts include millions being acquired for West Louisville.
